Labourers for the harvest

Jesus told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. (Luke 10:2)

Ever swung a scythe in a wheat-field? Most of us may be far from the farm, but the point Jesus is making is still clear: The waiting harvest demands workers. Understanding that so many Canadians must know Jesus demands that workers go and tell them. Pray that God will send workers to do this.

This Sunday (and last) are ‘Artizo Sundays’ at St. John’s. The Artizo Institute is committed to identifying, encouraging and training young men and women with gifts for ministry so they will take up positions of ministry leadership in the future. For those thinking about ministry in the future, the apprenticeship program (full andpart time) should be considered. St. Johns is an important training base for Artizo with 11 trainees based here and another 7 working at other churches across Canada. It is our prayer that God will send them to become workers in God’s harvest and that they will call others to do the same.

We thank all of those whose support and partnership in this ministry make Artizo possible.

Are we making a difference?

Are we training better ministers?

About this issue

Laborers for the harvest: Artizo provides the critical link: we are training young men and women to faithfully proclaim the Jesus of the Bible in a variety of settings. Whether it be preaching in church, leading and teaching in Bible study groups, meeting with non-Christians in ‘Christianity Explored’ groups, working on university campuses or mentoring younger Christians, those in Artizo are learning (and sharing with others) just how applicable Jesus is to every context and stage of life. This issue answers the questions: Where does your giving go? re we making a difference? Are we training better ministers?

Hear directly from all the future preachers in training!

Young adult training program

Young Adults training program
The 222 program is a new Artizo initiative this year that aims to encourage and equip young men and women in the 18 to 23 year old age group. It is a mentoring and training program that helps these young people grow in their Christian walk and ministry skills. '222' comes from the Bible verse 2 Tim 2:2 "and what ou have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to the faithful men who will be able to teach others also." We are pleased to announce the first-ever 222 interns: Annyn Matheson, Colin May, Karol Boschung, Mitchell Cheong, Yu-chen Zhou. These 5 young men will be mentored and trained in proclaiming Jesus to help them think about a life of ministry.
