the new young adult training program

'222' – the young adults program

“What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
(2 Timothy 2:2)

The aim of Artizo is to raise up the next generation of Bible teachers and church leaders. Part of the program focuses on identifying and encouraging young people with gifts for ministry.

Duration

2 Years (or as agreed with ‘222’)

Structure

The individual details of the program for each 222 person will be created considering the 222 person’s church, ministry situation and mentor, but will include:

1) 1:1 Mentorship

A 1:1 meeting with an older mentor every 2-4 weeks. Some things you might do during this time include:

  • Praying together
  • Talking through your current ministries together.
  • Work through the bible and Christian books together.
  • The material focused on is at the discretion of the mentor, but over the two year period must include:
  • Working through the pastorals to develop a biblical picture of ministry and Christian leadership.
  • Working through the book “The Trellis and the Vine” together.
  • The material cost will be covered by Artizo
2) Ministry Specific Training

Your mentor or other experienced leaders will work with you on developing particular aspects of your current ministries such as preaching, discipling others, outreach, kid’s ministry etc.

3) Simeon Trust Conference

Attend a Simeon Trust Preaching conference each year of the program. The cost will be covered by Artizo. (see: www.simeontrust.org).

4) VYLC

Attend the Vancouver Youth Leadership Conference each year. The cost will be covered by Artizo. (see http://www.stjohnsvancouver.org/youth-net/vylc.php).

5) Mission

Be part of the Artizo mission team if Artizo runs a mission at a host church during the year.

6) Fundraising

Participate in Artizo fundraising activities such as donor diners.

7) Artizo Team Social Events

222’s are also invited to participate at many of the Artizo social events such as the Artizo kick-off dinner in Sept, Christmas dinner in Dec and the end of year events in May-June. Getting to know the other participants in all the Artizo programs is one of the most important aspects of being part of the 222 program.

"For the past couple of years I have been ministering in various areas throughout the church community. This year, God presented me with an unforeseen break from university and has afforded me the opportunity to spend more time in ministry. The 222 program provides me with a place to do more and different sorts of ministry, as well as a place to explore how I might further God’s kingdom with the rest of my life."
222 Colin May

"I decided to take the 222 program so that I could learn how to better serve the church. I hope that the program will equip me to serve God, whether in revealing more ministry opportunities or how to minister."
222 Annyn Matheson

"I think that the 222 program will help me prepare youth to respond properly to God’s grace and gospel. I feel that I can help youth, especially university students, to grow in Christ as His disciples."
222 Yuchen Zhou

"I hope that, whether I go into full-time career ministry or not, the future holds more challenges that will refine me to better glorify God and to do ministry in whatever context I find myself. I’m also really excited to start the 222 program because it will hopefully give me more of an insight into the ins and outs of ministry as a vocation."
222 Karol Boschung

"As I near the completion of my engineering degree at UBC, questions about career and about life in general have surfaced for me. Up until recently, vocational ministry had not been on my radar, and I am still uncertain as to whether it is the path God has for me.  However, I would like to be challenged to be ministerial regardless of where God places me."
222 Mitchell Cheong

The Artizo Institute trains able, faithful, innovative and confident gospel ministers to know and understand the Bible, lead effectively, proclaim the gospel, and be able to train others to do the same. Artizo prepares young leaders for full-time ministry by allowing them to serve the body of Christ in their local church with experienced gospel ministers as mentors.
