Locum tenens: supply preachers and teachers during the summer months

The locum tenens temporary preachers program is a four--week program designed for churches who need supply preachers and teachers. The program is rich with active preaching, Bible study and summer school activities. This program benefits both the church and the Artizo preaching graduates:

• Artizo graduates go out as teams of two, teaching and preaching with the skills they have practiced throughout their two-year apprenticeship.
• Churches benefit from solid Bible teaching. This enables their senior clergy members to get a well deserved summer break without being worried about the void they leave.
• Churches can experience Artizo in action.

Activities include

• Sunday sermon series – four weeks of expository preaching on the book of Luke.
• Jesus and the Old Testament Course – this enhances the Sunday sermons through in-depth study of a few passages in Luke. It provides a theological overview of how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament prophesies. Students will learn how to understand the Bible text in Luke by using the Bible Toolkit. The course kicks-off on a Saturday with an introduction from 9:00 to 12:00 noon. Subsequent courses are run once per week from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
• Youth Discipleship Course – this course is intended to help young Christians, ages 16 and up, grow in Bible knowledge and gain confidence in being able to read and understand the Bible. It is a 3-week series held once a week.
• Artizo information nights – this is a two-way evening information event designed to provide an overview of the Artizo programs. Church leadership interested in becoming trainers, and young Christian leaders interested in an apprentice program in Christian ministry will have opportunities to speak with the Artizo representatives and have their questions answered.
