Dear Friends of Artizo,

I would like to share with you some exciting news, The Artizo Institute and St. John’s Vancouver wish to announce the appointment of a new Director of Training, Ben Roberts.  This comes after extensive review, consultation and prayer and it represents a strategic fresh start for the Artizo programme.  Ben will be working under the guidance of St. John’s Vancouver and will be responsible for Training Artizo Interns.   Ben begins in his new position August 6th.

Ben is an Artizo Alum himself, one of the first to be ordained priest in ANiC, a teacher and trainer, who well understands ministry as he has worked for 7 years with Sean Love at St. John’s Richmond.  He is very well networked in ANiC (the Anglican Network in Canada) and ACNA (the Anglican Church in North America), chairing a couple of ongoing active committees.  He will be an invaluable addition to St. John’s Vancouver in the role of Artizo Director of Training and is very well placed to bring depth and clarity in the Artizo training program.

Ben was born and raised in the Akron area of Ohio, son of a Veterinarian.  He attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, completing his undergraduate degree in Theology (2005) and it was there that he met his wife, Karyn.   After graduation, they spent three years in Avon, Connecticut where Karyn served as an English teacher and Ben worked in an Episcopal Church as a Youth Minister. In 2008, Ben began work on his MDiv at Regent College while an Artizo Intern (completed 2011). Ben came to St. John’s Richmond in 2011 as an Associate Minister and was ordained a priest in the Anglican Communion on February 5th, 2012.

Ben and Karyn live in Vancouver with their three children, Adelaide, Ambrose, and Olive.

As the Director of Training he hopes to strengthen the foundations of Artizo’s training curriculum, and invite interns into a cohort that prizes prayer, excellence, and constant growth in the ministry of the word.

Please join me in welcoming Ben Roberts to our Artizo family,

Blessings,

Peter Jefferson,
Chairman
